Food Art!

Artists Nancy Young and Diana Saffo Bono, both of Lake Saint Louis, designed and built
a sculpture of food items donated to St. Peters’ Community & Arts Center’s Incredible Edible
Sculpture food drive. The sculpture was on display at the Center prior to being donated
to Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Center for distribution to the hungry in our area.

Come down for the Festival of Ice!

Fete De Glace (The Festival of Ice)
Watch professional ice carvers bring the art to life in a competition using chain saws, power grinders, sanders, cold chisels, hand saws, and irons from 10am-3pm. This competition is judged and juried by the crowd. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available & nearby fire pits to warm up.

January 18 & 19, (Monday & Tuesday) 2010, 9:30am-3:30pm $110. A Collage Workshop using a variety of painted and found papers, colored tissue, and rice papers, etc. This is the Motherboard of design possibilities. “Things that fly” will be the theme. Design and composition will be covered. Magic windows will help you find the perfect composition to enlarge smaller pieces into bigger paintings.

February 16 & 17, 2010 (Tuesday and Wednesday), 9:30am-3:30pm, $110. Pastel Still Life Workshop with Pottery. Students will work from a still life of pottery as well as a photo creating a painting in pastels. A variety of pastel sticks and pencils may be used on neutral Canson paper. Design and composition will be covered in this first time lesson and a good one if you have always wanted to try out that box of pastels!

March 15 & 16, 2010 (Monday & Tuesday), 9:30am-3:30pm, $110.
Collage Workshop, Embedded Objects, using a limited palette of three colors, plus black and white gesso and metallic paint. We will complete a painting in two days. You may work on canvas or watercolor paper. Students will approach using their own choice of unique collage materials like doilies, skeletal leaves, buttons, etc.

April 19 & 20, 2010 (Monday & Tuesday), 9:30am-3:30pm, $110.
Watercolor Workshop, painting spring! A limited palette of seven colors will be used to create a springtime theme. Subject matter will to be determined. You may work from photo references or from the prepared lesson.

May 17 & 18, 2010 (Monday & Tuesday), 9:30am-3:30pm, $110.
Collage and Design Workshop, using a limited palette of three colors, plus black and white gesso. We will complete a collage in two days. You may work from your own study or inspiration references or from the prepared lesson.

Started in 2006 by Saint Charles Riverfront Arts, the Spring ArtWalk is the primary
venue to support our mission of growing a dynamic Art District in and around Main Street, in historic St. Charles, Missouri. The Spring ArtWalk is a three day event that features juried artists housed indoors at various businesses along Main Street. The participating businesses provide display space for the artists and help to attract customers and sales.

The Spring ArtWalk is Artist Friendly:

Artists’ Appreciation Reception
Media Exposure, including Press Preview Event

Fused Glass Classes offered in St. Charles

Rich Brooks, fused glass artist will conduct Fused Glass Jewelry Workshops where you will not only challenge your imagination, but will create at least 6 miniature works of art. Each piece will be a mini masterpiece that you can wear, show off or use as gifts He will present a fast paced project. All works will be fired and available within 10 days. If you have a group, let us block a time off for you. The classes are held in St. Charles.
