“ALMOST NOTHINGS-BECOME SOMETHING SPECIAL “
Monday 9:30-11:00 AM, Youth 9 – 15 $30
(Youth only, Minimum 5 students)
Beginning Glass- All about glass…will learn to cut glass, but mostly instructor will cut if needed. Making glass out of nearly nothing at all…all participants will create exquisite items out of small glass…. It is wonderful glass in a large variety of colors. Youths will be so inspired and think about creativity, …”look what I did”. We will discuss composition, shape and size.
(Volunteers welcome to assist)
(3 Pieces -2 pendants and one set earrings or 3 pendants)
(Finished pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up Wed)

“INSPIRATION WHERE WE GET IT” as Artists
“MAGIC OF SHEET GLASS”
Monday 12-1:30 PM…
(2 Sessions $110) (Intermediate Class) (Minimum 4 Students)
(All Glass in this workshop will take at least two firings)
Making sheet glass 2- 2x5 inch piece of sheet glass, which will be fired on site. Members will make a small sheet glass ….you will work with scrap materials, frit and stringers… most will be included in the cost of the class… specialty glass is not included…. But is available for those wanting to up scale or put more pizzazz their glass… It is a choice
Note: Second session will be learning to look, find magic sections, composition, cutting thicker glass, fire polishing glass, making decisions on what you want your final pieces to look like. (Schedule either Wed/Fri)
(Pieces will be fired and ready for mapping Wed. or Fri. afternoon 2:30-3:30)
“SMALL-BITS EMBLESHMENTS”
Monday 2:00-3:00 PM, ($30) (mini-class)(Intermediate)
You will create “small bits” pieces of glass that can be added to final works, cold fused or fired onto existing pieces. You can create “bubbles”, eyes, and face parts, whatever… “Small-bits” can really make a difference in some final works to make and grab people’s attention. (1/4 kiln shelf)
(Pieces will be fired and ready to work, by Wed. afternoon)

TUESDAY FEB. 16, 2010
“BEAD MAKING GLASS” KILN FIRED (Beginning and Intermediate)
9:30 – 11:00 AM ($55) (Minimum 4 people)
Learn the process of making beads (jewels) that do not require a bail, using bead rope, a variety of glass, layering (5 jewels -1 inch by 1 Inch). This class focused on creation of beads, not size of beads, but used of different glasses to achieve artistic jewels.
(This firing may not be completed before end of retreat)
STAMPING ON GLASS (Beginning and intermediate)
11:00-12:00 Noon -Mini Class ($25) (Minimum 4 people)
Use rubber stamps to create wonderful jewel like bits and pieces of artwork. Items fired on fusible glass to be permanent in fused glass projects or can be used independently or with creation of future glass projects. (2 ¼ by 5 inches) bit and pieces to fit size, or larger pieces, ½ kiln shelf.
